Earthquake in Japan — Emergency Information for Canadians

A strong earthquake has struck off the northeast coast of Japan. The Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada Travel Report on Japan contains more information.

Canadians in need of assistance are encouraged to contact the Embassy of Canada in Tokyo. Callers may experience difficulties reaching the Embassy due to problems with local infrastructure.
